Exact Globe

Working with Database Editor

Introduction

In Exact Globe, it is possible to customize tables and/or fields with Exact Extender based on specified business needs. Besides creating customized tables to store predefined values (code) that you can use as options in other standard tables, you can also add, modify, or delete fields in the following standard tables:

  • Financial entries
  • Financial entry lines
  • Accounts (debtors/creditors)
  • Invoices
  • Invoice lines
  • Items
  • Orders
  • Order lines
  • Project
  • Resource
  • Contacts
  • General ledger
  • Quotation
  • Bill of materials (BOM)

Add-on/Extender Tool/Database editor

Description

Description

This displays the description of all available tables. Only descriptions for customized tables with the type Add-on can be modified by clicking Open.

Type

This displays the type of all available tables, in either Exact for standard tables or Add-on for customized tables created via Exact Extender

Add-on

A check mark displayed indicates that there are fields added to the table. You can add fields to a table by clicking Open

Note: If you add a new field to a table which is linked to other tables, a message is displayed asking whether you want to add the same new field to other linked tables as well. 

Button

Delete

Click this to delete a customized table. You can only delete a customized table that is not linked to other tables. 

Note: This is enabled only if you select a customized table.

Open

Click this to open the selected table for adding, modifying or deleting of fields. For more information, see Creating and Maintaining Tables.

New

Click this to create a new customized table. This data can then be used as values for customized fields in standard tables. For more information, see Creating and Maintaining Tables.

Note: A new menu path will be created at Add-on/Extender Tables for every newly created table. You can use this new menu path to enter data in the customized table.  For more information, see Overview of Data in Customized Tables.

Save

Click this to save the changes you have made.

Close

Click this to exit.
